The availability of quality and sustainable Water, Sanitation and Hygiene services in Health care facilities increases the quality of health care and reduces the spread of infection. WASH in health care facilities means regular supply of quality water, proper waste disposal management, quality infrastructure and quality hygiene.

Basic WASH services are lacking in most low-income Health care facilities. According to a report by WHO and Unicef Joint monitoring for Water supply, sanitation and Hygiene. One in Four health care facilities around the world lacks basic water services.

This has resulted in the inability to provide safe health care and exposing health care workers and patients to great health risk. Poor WASH services in health care facilities also affect childbirth safety.

In response to this, Hope Spring #ClaimYourWaterRights is trying to gather data on the state of WASH in Health care facilities in Nigeria through a questionnaire This will provide insight and give more knowledge of the area of health that is mostly affected.
