The Unscripted and Unstoppable Girl-Force

Access to menstrual education and materials for all
Hope Spring Water in collaboration with other partners is organising a menstrual hygiene workshop in different parts of Nigeria in commemoration of the International Day of the girl child celebrated annually on the 11th of October. themed “ Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable” from 9th – 11th Otober 2019 to address the challenges faced by the girl child, promoting girls empowerment and fulfilment of their rights.
There are several myths and taboos attached to menstruation in several countries of the world which has led to isolation and absenteeism from school by most girls during menstruation. Most girls are often faced with the challenge of poor menstrual hygiene knowledge which often result in shame and inconfidence.
Hence, international day of the girl child is an avenue to raise girls with equipped knowledge of menstrual hygiene who will be change agents that will be able to demystify menstrual myth and be confident. The workshop will help to educate school children on menstruation matters, promotion of menstrual hygiene education in schools and mobilise political will to prevent period poverty
Hope Spring Water Charity Foundation is committed to reaching out to more schools across the country and is open to partnerships with other like minded organizations, that are passionate about impacting lives through the provision of WASH to the poor and underprivileged in the society.
You can partner with us through volunteer support to facilitate the workshop, donation of sanitary pads, logistic support and cash donations.
