Id el Kabir in a few weeks, it’s an Islamic celebration observed across the world in commemoration of Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s commandment. It is a two days public holiday, this year Id el Kabir will be observed on Thursday, July 31st and Saturday, August 1st 2020.
Muslims gather for prayers and sermons at outdoor areas and mosques, dress in their best attire and families partaking in festive meals. While celebrating and partying remember the less privileged who are in great need or who could not afford the necessities of life.
Eid is another avenue to give zakat as instructed by the Prophet of Allah. While we are busy cooking great meals and buying clothes, let’s remember the less privileged who can’t afford such meals or walk several miles to get water for their daily use.
An act of giving this eid can change the story of these communities and villages forever for good. You can donate a well to a village or borehole to a community. You can do this as an individual or an organisation. You can also partner with us on any water project or donate any amount you can afford. You are contributing to ending water poverty.
