About Menstrual Hygiene Management Workshop 2022

On May 2022, Hope spring Water collaborate with Hammed Poverty Relief Foundation on training students of Sadiyyah model Schools on how to make their reusable menstrual pad and educate them on menstrual hygiene. This idea was created based on the knowledge that thousands of girls absent themselves from school due to period poverty

The Project

‘’The project themed Menstrual Hygiene Management Workshop 2022’’ was spearheaded by Hope Spring Water Charity Foundation in collaboration with Hameedah Poverty Relief Foundation. The project was divided into two sessions, the first was the MHM Education and the 2nd was sustainable sanitary pads locally made. The workshop trained 76 girls selected from various classes of Sadiyyah model schools. The MHM expert educated the girls on menstrual Hygiene. Mrs Yemi Dabiri took them on cutting and sowing of the pads and she emphasised on the need for reusable pads while Mrs Hammed Balogun taught the students on Menstrual Hygiene Management. The girls were trained on how to make their own reusable pads.

Project Impact

The girls trained at the workshop expressed their joy for partaking in the training  and appreciation was  given to Hope Spring Water and  Hameedah Foundation for coming up with such a thoughtful initiative. The students asked several questions on MHM itself and the young girls were also taught on the preparedness for their first Menstruation.
